Accounting Connect is a SAIPA-aligned practice running on the same automation infrastructure we deploy for our clients. The work is technical, the systems are modern, and the output sits at the intersection of professional accounting and applied AI.

We are recruiting for one role, described below. It is fully remote with optional time in our Oudtshoorn office, and reports to the founding directors. That arrangement describes the job, not the service — clients are met at our Oudtshoorn office by appointment, and their work is run from there. We are not looking for fit — we are looking for fire. We do not take on training contracts at present.

01 · ROLE

Partner-track Accountant.

This is a senior hire on a partner-track path. You will run client engagements, build and grow your own client base under the Accounting Connect brand, and lead the AI side of the firm — defining how we deploy automation in our own practice and in our clients' businesses.

You are a qualified accountant first. The work is real accounting work — bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, payroll, tax, statutory, advisory — done to a senior standard. But you are not satisfied with traditional practice. You want to build a modern firm, and you have the technical depth to lead it.

Day to day, you will manage a portfolio of clients, develop new client relationships, and own the firm's AI and automation strategy. You will work closely with the founding directors on practice development, and over time take on a defined book of business with commercial participation.

This is not a role for someone looking to fit in at a typical accounting practice. It is a role for someone who wants to help build a different kind of one — and is ready to stake their career on it.

Requirements

Qualified Professional Accountant (SA) (SAIPA) or CA(SA) (SAICA) in good standing.
5–10 years post-qualification experience, with at least some in a client-facing or practice setting.
Strong technical depth in cloud accounting (Sage, Xero), tax, and statutory work.
Genuine interest and demonstrable skill in AI and automation — not as a future plan, as something you already do. Workflow tools (Make.com, n8n, Zapier), API integrations, LLM-powered workflows, and applied AI in finance functions should be familiar territory.
Commercial instinct. You are comfortable building a client base, talking to owners, and pricing your own work.
Eligible to work in South Africa.
Fully remote. Optional time in our Oudtshoorn office welcome but not required.
